Montana Olympian cherishes her Sochi memories

Olympic freestyle moguls skier Heather McPhie

In December we spoke with Olympian Heather McPhie of Bozeman about her hopes for the Sochi Olympics. McPhie is the reigning national freestyle mogul ski champion, and Sochi was her second Olympics.

She placed 18th in Vancouver in 2010. In Sochi, McPhie placed 13th. Although the 29-year-old didn't make it onto the medals podium,  she tells News Director Sally Mauk she had an experience she'll always cherish.

Wilson brothers. Butte natives. Mogul skiers. Potential Olympians

Bryon and Bradley Wilson are both vying for spots on the U.S. Olympic Ski Team.

For Butte brothers Bryon and Bradley Wilson, skiing started early. It was a casual affair, though, spending weekends with their parents at Lost Trail Powder Mountain and Discovery Ski Area.

Today, the Wilson’s ski for a living. Bryon, 25, and Bradley, 21, are members of the U.S. Freestyle Moguls Team, and both are vying for a trip the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Japan.

Montana’s Heather “McFly” hopes to land in Sochi

National freestyle mogul ski champion Heather McPhie

Among the Montanans hoping to make it to the Sochi Olympics this winter is Bozeman native and reigning national freestyle mogul ski champion, Heather McPhie.

It would be McPhie's second Olympics - she placed 18th in Vancouver in 2010. This year's team will be picked in January.

McPhie is back in Bozeman for the holidays after competing in a World Cup event in Finland. The 29-year-old took time out from her training to speak with News Director Sally Mauk about her skiing career. It's a sport that's in her blood - beginning with her great grandfather.
